Presents Friday Night Barrels

July 30th, Salt Creek Arena, Boyd, Texas

This is COBRA's 2nd season race followed by the Open 4D Barrel Jackpot. Exhibitions start at 6:30pm, COBRA race and jackpot at 8:30pm. Each race has a $25 entry fee. COBRA Youth has $20 entry fee. The 4D is 1/2, 1/2, whole second splits. All contestants will have a one time $5 arena/office fee.

Hello everyone! Welcome to COBRA's Newsletter, The COBRA strike. This is where members and non-members can get up-to-date info on COBRA's results and other announcements.

Hello everyone,

We are all set for our 2010 season to begin. We have new members signing up each day. Our first race is June 18th. All our races this year are going to be on Friday evenings. We hope this helps those of you wanting to attend other races on the weekends.

I'd like to thank our Board Members for volunteering to help this season. They are listed on the website and you can go to each of them with any questions that you have.

This season we have a few changes. We will only be having half the races, so the membership is only going to be $50 this year. Our entry fee has also been cut down to $25 for Leagues 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9 and $20 for the Youth. All members will still be required to bring in sponsorship equal to the membership dues of $50. We have sponsor packets that we will be handing out at our first race.

Members must compete in 5 out of the 7 races, the 7th is our Last Chance race where points will be given to only those that require this race to make their 5. Your time can be rolled into the Open 4D that we will host directly after the COBRA race.

This year instead of making the dress code mandatory, we will be awarding one extra point to those that are in dress code and do not loose their hat. This can add up to make a big difference for year end awards.

Please check out our pay out comparison below. We have what we call a "Pyramid Payout" when compared to a regular jackpot. This means we pay more money to the competitive level where there are the majority of riders. This means YOU 3D, 4D, and 5D folks!

Our passion is to pay more money to those of you out there that are just starting out or who may never be in fastest 10%. We want to make barrel racing worth your while. You deserve it.

So, get registered on our website so you can fill out the Classification Surveys. This will give you your starting point. Where you go from there is up to you. Call with any questions.

THREE WAYS TO RUN

Full Member

Only Full Members can earn points towards saddles that will be given away as year-end Champion awards for each League. You will also compete in any Circuit Series for a chance to win buckles and other great awards. You may also win day money at each event.

Pro-rated Member

This will allow you to enter one Circuit Series at a time - three Circuit Events. You are eligible to compete for day money as well as a chance to win a buckle in each League. Other great prizes are also awarded.

Non-member

As a non-member you will be running for day money only. Remember, events ran under "non-member" status will not be considered towards year-end standings, should you decide to become a member later in the year.
